Call for Tenders

Reach the Heights is a Welsh Assembly Government initiative aimed at reducing the number of young people in Wales aged 11 - 19 years who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), or at risk of being so. The project has been developed to take advantage of the funding opportunities available from the European Social Fund (ESF) programme in Wales.

In March 2009, Reach the Heights was awarded £27 million from the European Social Fund. This funding will support two projects: First Footholds, and Routes to the Summit. Arts Council of Wales is a joint sponsor on the First Footholds Project.

How to bid for funding

Project specifications, application forms and guidelines will are issued below, and are also available on the Sell2Wales website.

The bids will be assessed by a panel comprising Arts Council of Wales staff and Council members, young people and an external advisers; contracts will be issued in July 2009. The planned timetable is shown below:

27 May 2009: Project briefs issued on Sell2Wales and Arts Council websites
13 July 2009: Deadline for bids
27 July 2009: Organisations informed of award decisions
03 August 2009: Contracts Issued
